Celebrating the inherent overlap and complimentary aspects of all art forms, Joel Yasskin imagines design solutions and innovations for any scenario. His insights come from a lifetime of experience and passion for art and design. Similar to Bauhaus and Renaissance traditions, he amalgamates craftsmanship with design and fine art, while considering social and ecological factors and keeping in mind the past, present, and future. This includes using ecological design to regenerate the Earth. Also recognizing the importance of creating and celebrating beauty in our environments, he seeks to achieve a pleasing aesthetic in harmony with inherent design functions within budget and collaborative possibilities.
Joel's lifetime of hands-on experience in landscaping, construction, and fine arts mixed with education and research in landscape, urban, and ecological design provides a dynamic ability to contribute to essentially any design scenario. His art and design background includes extensive undergraduate and graduate studies in: landscape architecture-design, urban planning, architectural design, environmental design, sustainability, permaculture design, painting, sculpture, and photography. He has carried out extensive art and design research and practice in East Asia, Europe, Hawaii, Oregon, and California, also including farming and gardening in the Middle East. He has received awards in water media and photography, including artworks exhibited.
